I am sending reading logs home today. When students complete the reading logs and turn them in they will get a free pizza coupon from Pizza Hut! Please keep the reading logs in the plastic sleeve inside the folders.
It is important that students are reading every night and working on fluency and accuracy. The table below will help with how many words your child should be reading and a website for you to reference. Some students read quickly and once they are reading fluently then the focus is on the child being able to understand what they read and can they retell the story in their own words.

This week I am meeting with students and sending them home with books to practice reading. There are questions in the back that they can answer verbally. This will be a good check to see if they understood what they read.

Friday: Order Pizza From Dominos!!!! This is a fundraiser for our school. Dominos donates money for every pizza our school orders. Tell your child goes to Ursa Major and that they are in Ms. Conner's class!!!
**Also, where your school shirts or Blue and Yellow on Friday to show school spirit!
